Best Way to Store Glue - In a Pretty Jar!

I have found that the best way to store and also to use your crafty glue is in a jar.  Not only does it leave the glue at the tip (since it is in the jar upside down) but it also stops the glue from getting extra air into the liquid and drying out to fast.

So instead of keeping my jar plain, I decided to make it pretty and cute!!  I etched the glass and added some pretty flowers and bling around the top of the jar! Here is a video on how I made the jar and also how to store the glue.

I love the look of etched glass, it really makes the glass come to life and adds a whole other level of interest to just a simple jar!  Etchall is the easiest product to make amazing etched projects, and it is reusable too!!

All you need to do is find a jar the is the right height for your glue and you have the perfect glue holder!!   Mine was from a salsa jar, so don't throw those food jars away!!!

How do you store your glue?

15 Ideas for Painted Rocks - A Great Kids and Adult Craft

I love the idea of painted rocks, not only the painting part but also the hiding and find other rocks in the neighborhood to find.  It is a really fun scavenger hunt that the whole family can get involved in!

Here is a video tutorial on how to make thee fun painted rocks.

These rocks are so easy to make, and simple acrylic paint is perfect for them!  My daughter and I made a set of ladybugs in a various colors.

Here is a couple of cute donuts my daughter made, can you tell which one a 4 year old made, hehe.

A couple of mandala ones that I made and my 7 year old son had some fun with his own idea of what he wanted to do, impressionist art rock right?

Here is some rocks we found on vacation and brought home to hide.  They even have a little tag glued to them to say what they are and to update the website to track where they go!

We even found another large one while at a lake!

I also made a series of troll inspired rocks a while ago and hide them, they were found in 2 days!!  Check out the video on these fun rocks!

Have you found any painted rocks in your area?

How to Make Inspirational Sticky Notes

I love being able to use up my scraps of papers in my stash but also make something useful.  I found some old sheets of papers (and I mean old, like over 10 years old for some) of scrapbook paper that I thought would be fun to make into DIY sticky notes with my Xyron Creative Station.  I did not want to just make plain old sticky notes, I wanted something that had an inspiration note on it each day, so stamps to the rescue!!

Here is a video tutorial on how to make these fun sticky notes with a little heart.

I started with some papers that have been in my stash for ages, and I wanted them thin, more like stick note thicknesses of paper, not a thick cardstock.  I love being able to use up supplies in my stash and I have had some of these papers for ages!!  I started by cutting the scrapbook sheets down to a 4x4 size.  I then stamped each page with a fun sentiment from various stamps sets I had in my stash that all had positive emotions tied in with it.

I then added the stamped papers in to my Xyron Creative Station to make the tops of each paper sticky like a sticky note with the 9in CS Repo Adhesive Refill.  This is super simple and such a cheap way to make sticky notes, and the best part is you can make them any color you want!!  I then attached the set of sticky notes all layered on top of each other onto a mini sign holder as a stand.

Now I can tear off sheets as I want and each one has a inspirational message on it to give me all the warm fuzzies.

You can keep this fun sticky notes set for yourself, or give it as a fun gift to someone special.  It is great as teacher gift, mother's day gift, grandparents gift, or Valentine's Day gift!  Even the kids can get into it and help make sets!!
